The Zoo's evening lecture series engage audiences of all ages, especially lifelong learners, who have an appetite for delving deeper into the wonders of wildlife. Attending these programs allows visitors to live vicariously through our experts, who often have had incredible close encounters with creatures across the globe. This month's lecture topic is Tree-top highways -- Exploring canopy highways: understanding how primates navigate through the rainforest. Kevin McLean from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies is exploring arboreal monkey movement behavior in the rainforest canopy. Get the rush hour report from Panama – it’s a jungle out there! $5 suggested donation. Refreshments will be served. Location: Hanson Exploration Station. Sponsored by Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo Volunteer Association.

Attending these programs allows visitors to live vicariously through our experts, who often have had incredible close encounters with creatures across the globe. Sam Fried spent a week in Churchill, Manitoba, expecting to see ice, snow, bears and winter birds. It turned out differently than planned, leading to a lot of questions and not many good answers. What happens to the polar bears of Hudson Bay when the bay doesn't freeze on time? And what happens to the birds that are migrating in and out of Churchill. Join us for an evening of spectacular photos, some answers and more questions. $5 suggested donation. Refreshments will be served. Location: Hanson Exploration Station.
