BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - July 10, 2012 - Connnecticut's Beardsley Zoo is pleased to announce it has signed Gulick Building & Development as a corporate sponsor for $5,000. Gulick Building & Development is a commercial and residential real estate development, property management, and energy services firm located in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

"Joining forces with the zoo seemed like a natural fit for us," stated Steve Gulick, owner. "Like the zoo, environmental issues are among our highest concerns and we are committed to helping residents and businesses alike find new ways to conserve energy and reduce their carbon footprint."

To that end, Gulick Building & Development is partnering with Connecticut's only zoo to raise awareness among zoo visitors about the environmental and economic benefits of The Home Energy Solutions Program - a residential in-home service providing professional energy assessments and weatherization services to help customers reduce their energy cost and use. Services may include on-the-spot improvements including caulking and sealing of critical air leaks, and depending on eligibility, may provide exclusive money-saving rebates on appliances, HVAC systems, and insulation. Upon completion of the assessment, an energy report card outlining the efficiency improvements needed to make a home healthier, more comfortable, and more energy efficient will be provided. This program is supported by the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund and administered by CL&P, UI, and the natural gas companies.

As a part of its corporate sponsorship, Gulick Building and Development will donate $25 to the state's only zoo for every Home Energy Solutions Assessment completed. Individuals must mention the zoo when booking the assessment. For just $75.00, qualified customers may be eligible for the valuable core services available in this program. Offer subject to change due to program funding. For details and to schedule an assessment, call (203) 583-4567 or visit

"The zoo is excited to have Gulick Building & Development as our partner," stated Gregg Dancho, zoo director. "By raising awareness about Home Energy Assessments, we can help educate our visitors about energy efficiency while they help give back to the zoo at the same time. It's a win-win!"

Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo celebrates its 90th birthday in 2012 and is closer than you think. The zoo is open daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Adult admission (ages 12 & older) is $12.00, children (ages 3 -11) and senior admission (62 and older) is just $10.00, and children under 3 years old are free. Zoo members also are admitted free. Parking at the Zoo is free of charge.
