Purple Heart
The Purple Heart (Tradescantia pallida 'Purpurea') plant is native to Mexico. This perennial is known for its drought tolerance and trailing habit. It typically grows to 8” tall, with thick, fragile stems covered in pointed, narrow-oblong, violet-purple leaves. The stems can trail 18” or more, creating a striking display. In bloom, clusters of small, three-petaled pink flowers (up to 1.5” diameter) appear along the stems.
