Leopard Orchid

The Leopard Orchid (Ansellia africana nilotica) is a musky-scented orchid native to tropical and southern Africa. Upright clusters of slender pseudobulbs are crowned with 5–7 broad leaves, varying from medium green to yellowish cream. Flowers are highly variable, ranging from 1–3 inches, with flat open petals and sepals and a smaller lip. Each plant’s markings are unique, giving it its “leopard” namesake.
